Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 14, 2026
Wescene brings everyone's photos and videos from an event together in one place. Wescene is a product of Appsnalog Technologies (“we”, “us”), operated from Malaysia.
This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.
1. What we collect
- Organizer account: your name and email address.
- Invitations: while Wescene is invite-only, the email addresses we invite to create an organizer account.
- Guest details: guests do not need an account. When you open an event, your browser gets a guest session for that one event, which lasts up to 180 days. You get a guest number for the event, such as “Guest #4”. You may give a name, or stay anonymous. You may also add one selfie, so the organizer can see who shared each photo. The name and the selfie are optional.
- Events: the details organizers enter, such as the event name, date and venue.
- Photos and videos: what you upload, and the details stored inside the file, such as when and where it was taken and the device used.
- Payments: what you bought and when. Our payment provider handles your card details. We never see them.
- Technical information: your IP address, device and browser type, used to run Wescene and keep it secure.
- Early access list: your email address and, if you tell us, the type of event. We use it only to email you about Wescene.
- Messages: what you send us when you contact us.
2. How we use it
- To run events: store, process and show photos and videos to the people the event is shared with.
- To manage accounts and sign-in.
- To tell organizers about their events, for example before an event goes offline or is deleted.
- To process payments.
- To keep Wescene safe and prevent abuse.
- To answer your questions.
- To improve Wescene.
- To meet legal requirements.
We do not sell your information or your photos. We do not use advertising trackers.
3. Who can see your photos and videos
Anyone with the event link can open the event, unless the organizer sets a passcode.
The organizer controls the event. They can see everything uploaded to it, and decide what guests can view, download or share.
When other people view or download your photos, the location is removed. The organizer can download the original files, which can still include the location where the photo was taken.
Copies that someone has already downloaded or shared stay with them, even after you delete the photo from Wescene.
Your name, guest number and selfie are seen only by you and the event's organizer. Other guests never see them. They are not shown in the event's photos, Presentations, downloads or shared story images, and they are not in the organizer's download of the event's photos.
Wescene staff use internal tools to support organizers and keep Wescene safe. In these tools, staff can see an organizer's email address and when they last signed in; their events' names, dates, times and venues, and how many photos and guests each event has; their orders; and the service messages we sent them. Staff can also see if an account was suspended, when and why.
Staff tools do not show guest photos or videos, original files, guest names, guest numbers or selfies, event passcodes or event links.
We keep a record of what staff do in these tools, for example which accounts and events they looked at or searched for, and each suspension or event deletion with its reason and what the organizer was told. We keep this record for 24 months.
4. Who else we share with
- Service providers that host, store and deliver Wescene, send our emails and process payments. They use your information only to provide their service to us.
- Authorities, when the law requires it, or to protect people or Wescene.
5. Cookies
We use only the cookies Wescene needs to work, such as keeping you signed in, remembering your guest session for an event, or remembering that you entered an event's passcode. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies.
We count page visits with a cookieless analytics tool. It does not record event links, event names or photos.
6. Storage and security
We protect your information with encryption and access controls. Our servers are outside Malaysia, so your information may be stored and processed in other countries. No online service is completely secure.
7. How long we keep it
- Free events stay online for 14 days after the event ends, and Full events for 6 months. Then the event goes offline, and 30 days later we delete it permanently, with its photos and files, guest names and selfies. Wescene shows these dates to the organizer, and emails them before the event goes offline and before it is deleted. Our Terms (section 8) explain each step.
- When an event is deleted because its time ran out, its organizer sees a notice in their account with the event's name and date, and when it went offline and was deleted. We delete the notice 90 days after the event was deleted, or sooner if the organizer dismisses it.
- After an event is deleted, by its organizer, by Wescene or because its time ran out, Wescene keeps a short summary of it for its organizer: its name and date, its plan, the dates it went offline and was deleted, how many photos it had and their total size. The summary holds no photos, guest names or selfies. Organizers can remove it from Past events at any time, and it is deleted with their account. Otherwise we keep it for 2 years after the event was deleted.
- Guests can remove the photos they shared at any time, also after the event has stopped accepting photos, from Mine (Photos I've shared). This works only on the phone or browser used to upload them, while its guest session lasts, because guests have no account. From another device, ask the organizer or contact us. A removed photo cannot be restored. Its files are deleted about an hour later.
- Guests can change or remove their name, and remove their selfie, from Mine in the same way. A new selfie replaces the old one. A removed selfie is deleted about an hour later.
- Organizers can delete any photo, and can remove a guest's selfie. Deleted photos and selfies stay in the organizer's Recently deleted for 7 days, where the organizer can restore them. After that, they are deleted permanently.
- An event can be deleted by its organizer, or by Wescene staff, for example when it breaks our Terms or after a legal request. The event then disappears at once for everyone. Its photos and files, guest names and selfies are then deleted permanently, usually within minutes. A short summary stays for the organizer, as described above. A photo link that a browser has already received can keep working for up to an hour.
- When Wescene staff delete an event, its organizer usually sees a notice in their account with a general reason, and sometimes a short message from us. The notice keeps the event's name and date, and we delete it after 90 days.
- After an event is deleted, we keep a record that it was deleted, with its organizer's account and the time it was created, for 90 days after its files are gone. After that, we keep only the event's internal ID.
- Otherwise, we keep guest names and selfies until the event is deleted.
- We keep your account until you ask us to delete it.
- We keep a record of the service messages we send you (what kind, by which channel, when, and whether it was sent) for up to 24 months, and of sign-in codes for 30 days. The record does not hold the message or your email address.
- We keep the history of an account's suspensions for as long as we keep the account.
- We keep an invited email address until we remove it from our invitation list, or until you ask us to.
- To stop abuse, we count some requests per IP address, for example new guest sessions for an event, wrong passcodes and early access sign-ups. We store the address only in coded form, and delete these records within 3 days.
- We keep payment records for as long as the law requires.
- We keep your early access email until we invite you, or until you ask us to remove it.
Deleted information may stay in backups for a short time before it is removed.
8. Your rights
You can ask us to:
- show you the personal information we hold about you;
- correct it;
- delete it;
- stop using it where you gave consent.
If you appear in a photo someone else shared, ask the organizer to remove it, or contact us.
9. Children
Organizers must be 18 or older. Guests of any age may join an event. The organizer is responsible for how photos of children are shared at their event.
10. Changes
When we change this policy, we update the date at the top. We tell organizers about important changes.
